This International “Double Top Ten” Technology Is Writing a New Chapter in Energy Saving for Customers

Green and low-carbon development has become the core theme of high-quality development in the steel industry, and efficient recovery of blast furnace residual pressure is a key rigid-demand technology for the metallurgical industry to reduce costs, cut carbon, improve quality and increase efficiency. Recently, a BPRT renovation project for a steel enterprise customer in Northeast China undertaken by Shaangu is progressing steadily. At present, the blast furnace blower has been successfully commissioned, and the turbine system is being debugged in an orderly manner. After all processes are completed, the entire high-efficiency energy-saving equipment will be fully put into operation, continuously releasing long-term green momentum for the customer.

As an internationally pioneering, fully independent and controllable high-end metallurgical energy-saving core equipment, Shaangu’s BPRT technology has successively won honors such as the United Nations IPEEC International “Double Top Ten” Energy-Saving Technology and the Gold Award for Innovative Products at the World Manufacturing Convention. It is a benchmark energy-saving solution recognized by the industry.

Compared with the traditional split arrangement, BPRT connects the blast furnace blower and the blast furnace gas residual pressure recovery turbine, originally placed in different workshops, in series on the same shaft system. This simplifies and merges the originally bulky system of the blast furnace gas waste heat and pressure recovery turbine power generation device, directly supplements the recovered energy as rotational mechanical energy to the shaft system, avoids energy conversion losses, and enables the motor driving the blower to reduce current (or the steam turbine to reduce steam volume) for energy saving. It has advantages such as high recovery efficiency, energy saving and consumption reduction, reduced construction investment, and simple operation.
