Around 9:00 am on April 9th, Shaangu provided eight sets of large-scale compressor units for the world’s first 300 MW compressed air energy storage(CAES) power plant – Hubei Yingcheng 300 MW CAES power plant demonstration project – including two lines and four sections, all of which were successfully tested and connected to the grid in one go. It has set 3 world records for single-unit power, energy storage scale and conversion efficiency, as well as 6 industry demonstrations, dozens of international innovations and global breakthroughs ..
This project adopts the world’s first, all-green, non-supplementary fired, high-efficiency 300 MW-scale CAES technology, which is currently the only large-scale long-term physical energy storage technology that can compete with pumped-hydro energy storage, and known as the “Stabilizer” and “Ultra Power-bank” for the new power supply system. It is selected as one of the first major technological equipment in the third batch of national energy field, the compressed air energy storage core equipment provided by Shaangu for this project has also been rated as one of the “Top 10 Technological Innovation Achievements in the Energy Industry 2023”.
