Recently, good news came from a steel enterprise customer’s two BPRT unit renovation project undertaken by Shaangu—the first unit has been fully commissioned and is operating stably; the installation of the second unit is progressing on schedule.
BPRT is a blast furnace energy recovery unit independently developed by Shaangu based on the needs of metallurgical industry customers, integrating a blast furnace gas waste heat and pressure recovery turbine power generation device and a blast furnace blower on a common shaft system. Compared with traditional blast furnace systems that have only a blower and no energy recovery unit, the BPRT technology can significantly reduce energy consumption. It has also been awarded the“Top Ten Energy Efficiency Technologies and Top Ten Energy Efficiency Practices”by the United Nations International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC), and won the Gold Award for Innovative Products at the 2019 World Manufacturing Convention, gaining international recognition.
As a key regional enterprise, the customer is comprehensively advancing ultra-low emission and upgrading projects. Energy consumption control in the ironmaking process is a core lever for the enterprise to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and meet energy efficiency targets. The BPRT renovation solution provided by Shaangu precisely matches the industry’s green upgrading policy requirements. After full commissioning, the units will fully recover the residual pressure and heat energy of blast furnace gas, directly offsetting a large amount of driving power for the blast furnace blower, achieving“turning residual pressure into power.”
