Shaangu’s two achievements into the list by National Energy Administration! Nationwide only ten selected !

Recently, the National Energy Administration released the list of “2023 Top Tens Technological Innovation Achievements in the Energy Industry”. Dedicated by Shaangu, the low-cost carbon-capture complete device for 500,000 tons/year coal-fired power plant and the “compressor & expander unit for 300 MW compressed air energy storage system” are on this list.

Undertaken by Shaangu, the 500,000 tons/year carbon-capture and energy-oriented utilization research & demonstration project is a carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) project for the largest thermal power plant in Asia. And Shaangu provided the core equipment – compressor unit for the carbon capture process, as well as system solutions & services for the project. The compressor unit is designed by advanced aerodynamic calculation technologies based on user’s demand, reducing the compression power consumption by 10% compared with traditional plants, and being the features of high carbon capture efficiency and carbon product content, , low capture energy consumption, low decarbonizing cost, as well as low labor cost, etc.

In June 2023, the compressor unit was put into operation normally after full-load running test. It will capture 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year, with carbon capture rate of more than 90%, and carbon storage & utilization rate of 100%, which sets up a new model of carbon reduction for the coal-fired power sector to approach ” Carbon-peaking & Carbon-neutral” and promote clean utilization of coal.

Hubei Yingcheng 300 MW compressed air energy storage (CAES) power plant is the world’s first, all-green, 300 MW-scale high-efficiency non-supplementary combustion compressed air energy storage (NC-CAES) project, which is known as the “stabilizer” and “super power-bank” of the new power system. This technology features high efficiency, wide adjustable operating condition, high intelligence, etc.

For a long time, Shaangu conducts in-depth research & development on compressed air energy storage technology. Nowadays, Shaangu is capable to provide complete solutions for CAES systems with different processes and scales ranging from 10MW to 400MW. The integrated “axial + centrifugal” compressor units by Shaangu fully matches and responds to the market demands for increasing scale, serialization, high system efficiency and high economic in the CAES industry, continuously assisting users in achieving cost reduction, carbon reduction and profit growth.
